This monthly class is taught by Shashi Sharma, who began his training in classical vedic chanting in his childhood. Students will practice classical chanting with foundational elements of classical Indian music, including raga. Traditional instruments may also be taught and accompany this class.

This four week class series is a methodical, progressive introduction to yoga in the Iyengar method for those new to yoga or new to the Iyengar method, or for experienced yoga students to strengthen their practice of fundamental actions and alignment in asanas (postures). Learn how to align the body and improve functional movement and practice awareness in action. Sanskrit names and yogic philosophy terms are introduced. Modifications of postures with props (such as ropes, wall, blocks, chairs, blankets) are used to accommodate students with conditions or injuries and to facilitate understanding, alignment and functional actions.

Yoga Therapy Class: Gentle/Restorative Series

Wednesdays 4:30pm - 5:45pm, March 4 - April 29.

Yoga practice contributes to emotional stability and health in many ways. This slower-paced class includes restorative postures and sequences to soothe and restore the nerves. Postures are taught with more modifications and props to accommodate older students or those who require special assistance and/or have mild chronic health conditions or injuries.
