For beginners and experienced practitioners of hatha yoga, a workshop to support you in learning how to practice yoga safely and consistently so it takes care of you. For those who have a practice already, there will be mentoring and inspiration for advancing in one's practice, solving problems with creativity, courage, and caution.

Weakness in the hips leads to a lack of stability that is hard on our hip and pelvic joints. Stiffness in the hips causes other nearby joints to compensate contributing to stress and strain in the lower back and knees. This two hour special class will explore developing mobility, strength, and healthy alignment in the hips.
Pranayama is the Study, Control & Regulation of the Energies of the body, the 4th Limb of Yoga. Yoga is very beneficial for children's overall health and development. While the emphasis is upon mobility and agility for the younger ages, gradually the postures are improved and perfected. Join us for a daily quickly-paced playful class of yoga asanas (postures), yoga story time about sages, postures, and ethical precepts of yoga (yama and niyama) that will enrich children's understanding and experience of the background of yoga followed by an art and writing activities that will reinforce learning of the sanskrit (the language of classical yoga, which is taught and practiced in the yoga asana class) and english translations of the classical yoga posture names and elements of the names. The class will close with some restorative yoga postures and a chant in Sanskrit to come full circle. Practicing yoga postures helps improve posture, promote healthy development, balanced mind and emotions, and cultivate a positive outlook.
In the Iyengar system of yoga, study comes first, then practice, and then teaching. Come learn about the certification system, mentoring, assessment, the syllabus for Introductory certification and ask your questions about the ethical path to teaching in the lineage of B.K.S. Iyengar.
A Workshop Especially for Women:
Learn how Iyengar yoga practice is ideal for maintaining balance and health and developing a tranquil mind amid the stresses and strain of daily life and duties and the body's cycles and stages of life.
Participants will be led through a sequence that promotes balance and nourishment for the endocrine (hormonal) system, mental and emotional balance and stability, and pelvic health with modifications made for individual's needs.
Experience an All-Levels class with Jennifer Beaumont that is suitable and safe for novice beginners to yoga and/or to the Iyengar method which includes more explanation about the method and system of yoga. Space is Limited. Advance registration & payment required to reserve your place.
Experience how the correct practice and specific sequencing of asana and pranayama alleviates anxiety and kindles courage in the practitioner, by accessing deeper aspects of one's self. This workshop includes supported backbends and inversions and is appropriate for Iyengar yoga students currently working at Level II & up.

Please join us for a new Yoga class for children ages 7 & up, tweens and teens are welcome! Yoga is very beneficial for children's overall health and development. This quickly-paced playful class is modeled on the children's yoga program taught at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute. Kid's Yoga meets on Mondays, 5pm - 5:45pm.
